Deep Mud 03:24
I've been standing--outside the door And I've been waiting--all night long Oh baby I can tread your water, but you drown me in your mud! I've been wishing--for a second chance And I've been hurting--for your romance I just want to feel your burn, but your ice is all I get! I've been wasting--all of my time I've been twisting--my feeble mind I trying to dig you babe, but your mud is much too high! Oh baby I can tread your water, but you drown me in your mud!

Cold Year 04:49
I can’t tell you, what October means to me And December ain’t what it used to be It’s been a cold, cold year ever since you let me be… March and April, that thaw is coming ‘round May and June, I can see right through those clouds It’s been a cold, cold year ever since you left me-- wanderin’ round [let me down] It’s warm in August, those steamy summer nights Through September, before I realized It’s been a cold, cold year--but I’m feeling alright [I’m alright…]

Sometimes you know a woman But she knows some other man Wrestle with her thunder But her love’s an icy stare Cold familiar Sometimes better The devils that you know The devils that you know When truth burns out your vision The cries, they soothe your mind To survive another disaster It beats dying on the vine When you have to choose Rarely fully lose To the devils that you know The devils that you know Pay the demons their dues But you’re always amused By the devils that you know The devils that you know

about

Deep Mud delivers their first EP, "Drown Me," with four cuts steeped in their blues rock core sound. Named after a lyric in their signature song "Deep Mud," this EP features driving rhythms, growling guitars and sturdy basslines that shake out those dirty blues.

Deep Mud is the third incarnation of drummer Danny Kelly and Guitarist John Kirkland's long-running, blues-based musical collaboration, adding Korey Morris on bass.

The eponymous track "Deep Mud" has been a staple tune since the beginning, transforming into a thick, deep blues rock thundercloud. All four tracks have been part of the line-up for several years, with "Cold Year," "Sadie Brown," and "Devils You Know" each seeing their first studio release on "Drown Me."

"Drown Me" was recorded in October 2021 in Lexington, KY.
